Is Limewire Safe? What are the Alternatives?

For now, Limewire is not is not safe to use, The Court order dated October 26, 2010 says so. visit their official webpage for more details.

I am using Imesh (version 6) before to download files from the Internet, then my friend suggested a better Limewire software to me. Comparing the 2 softwares that time, although they closely similar, Limewire has the edge because it can show you many resources where to download files. Lately, before it was seized by the Court, the probability of downloading files with viruses and trojans is high, this maybe one of the reason why it was banned. Imesh improved their software but I never tried their latest version, maybe if Limewire is still around, the Imesh may outwit Limewire.

As an alternative, I switched to Utorrent to download files from the Web. For me, downloading torrent files set-asiding the legality issues is the most convenient way of downloading music, videos, movies and software online as compared to other P2p methods.
