The status quo is the 1GHz CPU in the smartphone industry as well as the dual-core options which are still rare, but very likely to be popular and it is quite ridiculous just how powerful smartphones are becoming and it seems it is not the end yet. With the Galaxy S smartphone from Samsung with its 1.2GHz dual-core Exynos CPU, being released soon, actually the date is set for May 2011 and the launch will happen in the United Kingdom. The release date for North America has not yet been revealed for the 1.2GHz and everybody thought it is the latest and greatest from Samsung, but no, they promised and then confirmed a 2GHz smartphone also dual-core.
“It is Amazing How Technology has Advanced”
Nobody knows if they should get exited or not as a 2GHz Smartphone has been in speculation since 2010 already when Motorola promised their 2GHz smartphone to be released by Christmas 2010 and Sony Ericson promised their Noxus will be the first 2GHz smartphone. Now Samsung plans to release a dual-core 2 GHz smartphone, which according to them will see the light in 2012. Samsung is known for developing fast running phones and it is speculated that the latest dual-core 2GHz smartphone in the works will theoretically be capable of speeds of 4GHz.
Is It Possible?
That is the big question on everyone’s lips as high-ranking Samsung officials confirm that it is more than just speculation that their latest innovation will have the same data processing capacity of regular PCs. Samsung released their statement just as the world’s first dual-core 1GHz phones, the LG Optimus 2X and the Motorola Atrix, became available. It will be technically possible for a phone which runs with 2 2GHz chips, to run at speeds of up to 4GHz, although tests in the real world hardly ever match specs.
More Pressure on Competitors
Samsung will use the new 2GHz chip in their Samsung phones as well as marketed under their new Exynos brand, which they unveiled in February, to third parties. So it is possible that users do not have to switch over to Samsung if they want the fastest phone available, that is if it will be released. This is also just speculation, however the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Samsung Galaxy S II will be the first to feature the Exynos-branded chips. Although the word is not out yet as to exactly when Samsung will market their devices using the new dual-core 2GHz chips, it already puts a lot of pressure on the competitors such as NVidia with the Tegra 2 and Apple with the A5, which are both dual-core processors. Basically any mobile processor is based on ARM’s dual-core Cortex-A9, which creates the needed low-power architecture in mobiles, which is scalable to such speed and it is said to be the basis of the new chip from Samsung.

I need to know the name of the machine used to separate gold copper and other metals in mobile phone recycling; and if possible where I can find it.. . thanks.
Great article. The thing is, though, that as processor technology for mobiles advances, so do software applications which nowadays are getting much more resource-intensive. But still good news/rumors.A 2Ghz chip would definitely make my day
